Renske van der Stoep’s RAM19 program
We asked Rotterdammer and architect Renske van der Stoep: what will you do during the Rotterdam Architecture Month? “What a wonderful program this month! Naturally, the # RAM19 starts for me at the opening in POST on 24 May with lectures by Eran Chen and Kees Kaan. Unfortunately I was too late to register, so I am on the reserve list,” relplied Renske.
The following week Renske goes up the roof during the opening of the Rotterdamse Dakendagen (Rotterdam Rooftop Days) on the Hofbogen: “I can’t wait until the Hofbogen really becomes publicly accessible and is part of a new route from Pompenburg, via ZOHO, to the Agniesenbuurt and beyond.
Open studio with Joep van Lieshout
After Renske goes in depth. First, in an open studio she tries to answer the question: how can the Atelier van Lieshout (AVL) site develop? “I’m looking forward to explore the possibilities with Joep van Lieshout.”As Head of Architecture at the Rotterdam Academy of Architecture she set up this evening together with the local Keilecollectief.
Not to be missed: Dirk Sijmons and Diederik Samson
“But what I really don’t want to miss is the fourth – and last – meeting of the Maaskant dialogues.” During this evening on 12 June in POST Podium, Dirk Sijmons will talk with Diederik Samson about the spatial aspects resulting from the energy transition. Good architecture requires a good conversation and Renske talks along!
The Day of Architecture in closing
There is no better ending of the #RAM19 than the Day of Architecture. One of the four areas that is central is the Lloyd Quarter. “De Kroon, the multi-company building where also my office ROFFAA is located, is not officially in this quarter, but is just steps awau. Very nice that the Culture Campsite on the Kroon’s outside area is part of this weekend!”
The Floating Bricks House
During the Culture Campsite you can sleep in a converted feed silo or a double calf pig on high legs. But also in ‘The Floating Bricks House’, designed by ROFFA. On 15 June, Renske tells the story behind this design. “I will show all the visitors our office, where you can also see the making of ‘The Floaoting Bricks House’!”
During # RAM19, Renske goes to the opening, up the roof, in depth and sleeps under floating bricks. Join her!
