Architecture festival ZigZagCity takes you on an exploring voyage of Rotterdam-West. In two weeks time you’ll get to know Rotterdam’s areas Oude Westen and Middelland inside out. During the festival you can climb the Straatkijkers (Streetviewers), tailor-made constructions set on small squares that provide you with a different vantage point of rich neighbourhood life. The ZigZagCity route will lead you deeper into the district, through narrow residential streets with its unexpected places and quirky inhabitants. Here architects, artists, entrepreneurs and locals will show you what’s going on behind the facades.
Meeting place in Wijkpark
The central festival pavilion was especially designed and constructed for ZigZagCity by 15 (inter)national TU Delft students. It’s a new meeting place in the wijkpark (the local park), where residents and visitors can meet up during the festival.
In the first and last weekend of ZigZagCity there are special tours, openings, performances and surprising encounters behind front doors. Together they make sure you’ll get to see the area from a completely different perspective.
