Jan-Willem van der Male and Noortje Veerman are living, working and experimenting in their Tiny House, which they designed and built themselves. Come and listen to their special story during this Library College, which is part of the Rotterdam Architecture Month.
Tiny House – Cabin on the Heijplaat
In the harbour, hidden among green trees, a new neighbourhood is under construction and in an old village, there is a small wooden house on wheels. This is where Jan-Willem van der Male and Noortje Veerman live. Until the end of this year, they are living, working and experimenting in their Tiny Houses. After this, they are going to look for a new location.
DIY Tiny-House Library College
It took them 18 months to design and build their ideal home. Now they are mortgage-free, self-sufficient and working hard to realize a Tiny House Village. They have also set up the Tiny House Academy, to help others design and build their own house.
What drives them to live in such a small place? Why would you want to be dependent on solar energy and rainwater? Why a flexible and mobile home? Why are more and more people opting for this? Come and listen to these experience experts.
