Each year the Day of Architecture in Rotterdam provides the opportunity to have a look inside unique and special buildings. Houses, offices and other exceptional Rotterdam buildings that are not usually accessible, will be open to the public during the Day of Architecture. This year ‘the day’ will be a whole weekend, on Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 June.
Highlights in three areas
This year the Day of Architecture highlights three areas in Rotterdam. In the Maritime District, you can experience what it is like to live in the famous Red Apple or 100Hoog and see the new high rises currently being build. On the Wilhelminapier you can have a look in the spectacular basement of the Erasmus bridge or see a Holland-America Line cruise ship leave town from the Cruise Terminal. This year the historical Land of Hoboken, full of cultural institutions, is added to the programme. You can bring your picknick to the gardens of the Museumpark villa’s and have a look at the Depot construction site.
On the Day of Architecture you can find the central information point in the foyer of Het Nieuwe Instituut. It’s open all weekend between 12.00 and 17.00 for all your questions.
